STANZEL MODEL AIRCRAFT MUSEUM

Victor and Joe's inventions, ranging from solid scale models to amusement rides and from gas-powered Control-Line and free-flying model aircraft to ready-to-fly toys, begged to be saved. Thus, planning for a museum began in earnest during 1986. However, a museum by definition celebrates the past and Victor and Joe always had looked ahead. How could they honor their past while embracing the future? The answer was to create a legal entity that would benefit the community as well as oversee the museum.

Joseph and Victor Stanzel established the Stanzel Family Foundation in 1989. The Board of Directors fulfilled the brothers' mandate to construct the foundation building in Schulenburg and provide space for the Stanzel Model Aircraft Museum as a tribute to the community and an expression of appreciation to the hundreds of dedicated employees who contributed to their success. The Museum opened in 1999.
